My First Post

My name is Alyssa Eigner.  I’m from Eau Claire and am majoring in Multimedia Design at UW Stout.  If someone were to ask me when I first remembered drawing I would have to answer a very clichéd ‘I have been drawing ever since I could remember’.  Even though I have always loved art during high school I was often too busy to focus upon it.  But I realized within my senior year that drawing was my passion and even if it did not offer a secure job I had to do what I loved.  Since then I have been in a frenzy of learning and creating probably to catch up the years I feel I have lost.  However I feel that I am still lacking in certain parts of my comprehension of drawing.  One of the main objectives of taking this course for me is to help in one of my downfalls.  I hope to be able to learn more about the human body and how it works in order to create more realistic representations of humans.  I am very excited to be able to learn how each part interacts with each other so that I can incorporate that into my own art.  I have been to open drawing before and enjoyed learning from just drawing but I cant wait to gain more knowledge on the specific parts so that I can understand what is happening rather than just seeing it.   After I graduate I hope to go and work in animation.  My ultimate goal being an animator at Pixar.  That is why this class is crucial for me since to be an animator one must create the illusion of life and without knowing the way that the bones and muscles work together under the skin it is hard to make your work convincing.
